We're a group of amateurs who are keen to help others! This site provides information around our MMDVM Repeater, and it is a hub of information to help local amateurs. More on this soon!
The Multi-Mode Repeater idea has been set up to provide amateur operators the ability to use digital networks (such as DMR) that they may not have the ability to do so themselves, for those without their own Hotspot, to connect our region using one network, and to enable digital communications across the motu and World thanks to new digital modes.
Our repeaters run DMR on the 70cm band, and are connected to the Brandmeister network
The repeaters are here for all licenced amateur operators to use and the group is run by local amateurs for amateurs.
The network is fully operational.
If you'd like to report a fault with the network, you can submit this via the Contact Us page.
Currently, 'Site 1' provides mobile and home station coverage throughout Lower Hutt from Moera through to Taita.

Dynamic / User Activated Talkgroups use TS1.
This keeps the local Wellington Channel free for general chat
The network utilises static talkgroups which mean they are always 'on' for regular conversation. If you have your radio sitting on or scanning a static talkgroup, when there is traffic you'll hear it.
We currently use TG5302 as our main 'chat' talkgroup. TG530 is used for ZL-wide calls and is a great calling channel.
The network is set up with TG530 on TS1 and TG5302 on TS2. This means that you can use one or the other if there is already an active QSO taking place.
You are welcome to use dynamic talkgroups on TS1. This keeps our 'region' channel free for general conversations.
If you use a dynamic talkgroup, when you are finished, please remember to complete a private call to 4000. This will unlink the talkgroup and leave the timeslot free for others.
Our repeaters are connected to Brandmeister.
This allows you to access the Brandmeister Talkgroups, which are on their website.
Our network provides both Dynamic and Static Talkgroups, and all gateways are set up in the same way.
You can take a look at the list of available dynamic Brandmeister Talkgroups here!
The brainchild of two local Wellington Amateurs who looked at what was available to amateurs within the region and thought
'wouldn't it be great to have one mode that connects the entire region and helps those without the resources'
From there, the idea grew with gateways being built and set up around the region to provide as wide coverage as possible, all to support other local and visiting amateurs.
